"Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world."
An invitation
What is Above Base Camp?
It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, and many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths."
As a Christian, do you ever feel a bit uncertain about what to expect as you walk with Jesus, or maybe about what is expected of you? Perhaps you sometimes feel a little stuck, or possibly just a bit too settled in your faith? Our vision is to offer a framework for the 'big picture' of the journey of faith, using the metaphor of climbing Mount Everest. Our heart is to encourage us all to keep pressing on for the summit, together, as we climb Above Base Camp.
The aim of Above Base Camp ("ABC") is to enable modern pilgrims to follow Jesus on the good way of the ancient paths, up the mountain of God. Our purpose, therefore, is to help Christians keep on walking with Jesus throughout the whole of their lifelong journey of faith. To achieve this, ABC offers practical resources in the form of Articles, Books, Courses, Discovery guides, Equipping - spiritual mentoring and FIRE-breaks - our Retreats. This is all very much an on-going work-in-progress, with new material to be released regularly over the coming years.
The ABC framework for the Christian life of faith is built around three core concepts:

Three core concepts
The framework, in three movements.
Concept 1
Aspiring to Christlikeness
The 'ASPIRE' concept describes our Christian life through six different lenses. Our aim here is to grow to maturity across each of these six areas, as we Aspire to Become Christlike in our Actions, Behaviours and Character.
Concept 2
Balancing Life in 'The 3 Spheres'
This concept is about how to maintain balance across each of the 3 Spheres of our life of faith; as an Individual, in the Church, and in the World, where our focus is on Maturity, Ministry & Mission respectively.
Concept 3
Climbing 'The Mountain Path'
Taking wisdom from across church history, 'The Mountain Path' uses the metaphor of climbing Mount Everest to describe the different camps or obstacles we might encounter on our climb as we mature through the life of faith.

Following the path
What is Following the Path?
Thus says the Lord: "Stand by the [cross]roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls."
Following the Path ("FTP") aims to provide Christian followers of Jesus with a practical application of the ABC framework. FTP is therefore intended to be a practical guide that offers a suggestion for how to walk with Jesus in the Good Way of the Ancient Paths, today. To do this, FTP seeks to retrieve the wisdom of the Ancient Paths from both Scripture and Church history and to provide Modern Pilgrims with practical wisdom and guidance for how to follow Jesus, in step with the Holy Spirit.
The basic premise is that we are continually being unintentionally shaped, whether we are aware of it or not, by the world, the flesh and the devil. To counter this, we must intentionally follow the PATH of Jesus, which is about adopting the Practices of Jesus, living as Ambassadors of Jesus, holding fast to the Teachings of Jesus and growing in partnership with the Holy Spirit.
